The Wiggles Took Over Seacrest Studios!
Patients at CHOC Children’s Hospital shook their sillies out, clapped their crazies out and wiggled their waggles away on May 8, when The Wiggles performed at Seacrest Studios. The Australian quartet entertained a group of CHOC patients by playing a guitar-based set list that included classics like “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.” Members Anthony, Simon, Emma and Lachy – each donning a signature brightly colored uniform – led the children through a series of interactive songs, such as a riff on “Simon Says,” the favorite childhood game. The patients clapped along and did the twist. Emma also performed a brief ballet routine and Lachy did the splits, delighting the children who gathered around the group in a semi circle.
CHOC patient Emma, who is 5 years old and was born in Australia, said she liked the performance, adding that her favorite Wiggle was, of course, Emma. The group capped the performance by offering autographs and CDs and taking pictures with patients, and later headed to patient rooms to visit children who couldn’t make it to the studio. Internationally known, The Wiggles launched more than 20 years when founding member Anthony formed the group while he was studying to become a preschool teacher. Later this month, the Wiggles will begin a worldwide tour.
