Phillip Phillips Performs "Gone, Gone, Gone" At Seacrest Studios!

Phillip Phillips, the musician who rose to fame during American Idol Season 11, stopped by Seacrest Studios at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas. He was in town opening for John Mayer’s Born and Raised Tour. The singer-songwriter captivated the hospital audience with an honest interview and performance of his hit songs “Home” and “Gone, Gone, Gone”. The winner of American Idol, Phillips opened up about his journey on the show and said he never imagined winning. “There were some amazing talented people. There were definitely better singers than me,” he said. “I’m more of a musical guy. I like to have fun on the guitar and jam out with the boys…Then I had to sing live on TV every week, and that’s scary. If you mess up, you can’t redo it.” Phillips’ humble attitude and unique musical style won America’s vote by the end of the season. “I was so surprised. I started crying. I cried like a little baby,” he said.

Phillips talked about life before and after Idol and the importance of being authentic. “I was not popular in school…I would just play the guitar for hours and hours a day,” he said. “I was always friendly with everybody, and that’s how I always felt. That’s what my parents always told me. Be kind to everybody, because you never know what will happen in the future.” Phillips wrapped up his visit signing autographs and chatting with patients.

Thank you, Phillip, for hanging out and performing some of America’s favorite songs.
