Willow Shields Talks 'The Hunger Games' While At Seacrest Studios
Video and Written Recap by Seacrest Studios Intern, Soni Lazor
Willow Shields, best know for her role as Primrose Everdeen in The Hunger Games movies, happily volunteered as tribute to visit Seacrest Studios at Children’s Hospital of Orange County. A large crowd of adoring fans stretching across all ages greeted the 14-year-old actress as she arrived. During the interview Willow explained the speediness in which she landed the role as Primrose and how she sees a lot of similarities between her and the character. She also pointed out how the relationship between on-screen sisters Primrose and Katniss is very close to her off-screen relationship with Jennifer Lawrence. She said, “We’re just constantly goofing off and telling jokes and just having fun with each other and she’s become like a sister to me.”
As a fan of the books herself, Willow shared her love for reading The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins and easily connected with the patients. She even shared a few facts about herself including how her favorite animal is a penguin and favorite color is green, and she loves pizza. After the interview, patients lined the entire perimeter of the studio waiting eagerly for their picture to be taken with the young actress. Once the photographs and autographs were finished, Willow headed up to some of the floors of the hospital to visit a few patients who couldn’t make it down to the studio. Willow hits the big screen as Primrose once again this November in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay- Part 1. Thank you Willow for visiting Seacrest Studios, we hope you visit again soon.
