The Filharmonic Visit Seacrest Studios!
Written and Video Recap by Seacrest Studios Intern Katie Swinnerton.
Patients and their families were excited to meet contestants of NBC’s The Sing-Off, The Filharmonic, when they visited Seacrest Studios at Children’s Hospital of Orange County. The talented a cappella group pleased their fans by confirming they will appear as a competitive a cappella group in the upcoming movie, Pitch Perfect 2. Unfortunately, they couldn’t tell us any more, so we’ll have to wait and see!
Everyone explained how they choose to pursue a singing career. Although a few went to high school together, they decided to become a group to compete on The Sing-Off. Each member also shared what they would bring if they were stuck on a deserted island (plenty of water or a helicopter!)
The group wowed the audience in the studio with their live renditions of Pharell’s “Happy” and Bruno Mars’s “Treasure.” They were sure to take pictures with every patient that came to visit and even handed out signed CDs!
After the interview, the group travelled upstairs and stopped passerby in their tracks as they sang to patients bed-side.
Many thanks to The Filharmonic for brightening everyone’s day!
