Ryan Seacrest Gets Tearful When Talking About His Work For the Voice [VIDEO]

Ryan Seacrest has his days scheduled down to the minute, earning him the title of “The Busiest Man in Showbiz.” Even though this guy is constantly dealing with his numerous television shows, his radio show, and his restaurants, he still finds time to engage in altruistic work and sit down for an interview. Ryan joined Tracy Smith for a CBS Sunday Morning interview to talk about his work with ‘The Voice,’ and his host of other interests.

Ryan got a little teary-eyed when talking about his girlfriend and his work with the hospitals during his chat with Tracy. He admits to being an “emotional guy” when it comes to helping sick and injured children.

He also spoke about his chubby childhood and reassured Tracy that owning restaurants doesn’t tempt him to go back to his old eating habits. He also remembers how his pudgy preteen years were difficult, but ultimately made him the strong and determined man he is today. Mom Connie Seacrest promised that she packed Ryan healthy lunches when he was in school, but he’d always trade his good food for “cupcakes!” You won’t see Ryan eating that now though! Cupcakes have been officially replaced with kale. Yum, Ryan!

Iyaz Tells All During Visit to The Voice at CHOP!

Hip hop singer Iyaz caused quite a stir when he dropped into The Voice studio at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia! The music guru made an appearance last year on Hannah Montana and did a duet with the Disney singer. Naturally, the patients at CHOP were super curious about his experience with Miley Cyrus. Iyaz spoke candidly about working with the teen actress and told the children how fun it was to be part of a Disney show.
Originally from the British Virgin Islands, Iyaz talked about moving to the US to pursue music. Turns out, he made a great decision when he relocated to America. His first hit, "Replay," resonated well with music listeners everywhere and hit #2 on the charts. Since then, he's had two other hits, "Solo" and "Pretty Girls." The patients at CHOP gushed about how much they love his songs.
Recognizing a prime opportunity to showcase her talents to a top notch musician, an aspiring singer named Alexis rapped an original song for Iyaz. All Star Weekend Rocks On Over to The Voice Studio at CHOP!

The Voice studio at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) was rockin’ last Friday when pop boy band All Star Weekend surprised the patients with an appearance.  The multi-media center was buzzing with activity as the girls swooned over the musically inclined band and asked them tons of questions during their impromptu Q & A session.  One inquisitive fan gave the band a laugh when she asked the boys what they were most afraid of. Zach admitted to a phobia of rats, while another one of the members confided that he was terrified of cheese! CHEESE?!

The boys also dished about their career and music, and snickered when asked their age, claiming that many people assume they’re much younger than they actually are because they have such baby faces. That’s nothing to complain about! These charming boys brought an amazing energy to The Voice, and finished up their stay at CHOP by performing two of their most popular songs, “Not Your Birthday” and “Mr. Wonderful.” Take a look at the photos of All Star Weekend and the patients at CHOP!  It’s obvious a good time was had by all.

CHOP’S ‘The Voice’ Plays Host to Their First Pop Rock Visitors, Hot Chelle Rae!

The Voice studio at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) played host to it’s first pop-rock band last Thursday! The up and coming Nashville group Hot Chelle Rae made an appearance at the studio where they participated in an interview that was broadcast throughout the hospital. The guys talked about the history of the band and how they worked hard to become the much talked about rock group they are today. Brothers RK and Jamie also told us how fun it is to go on tour with a sibling. We definitely think it’d be more fun to go on tour if our brothers and/or sisters could come with us!

The patients at CHOP got another lucky treat when Hot Chelle Rae performed two very popular songs. First, they played a live version of their hit single “Tonight Tonight” followed by a fantastic rendition of Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream.” Before leaving, the modest and down-to-earth band members made sure to sign each and every autograph and take pictures with all the kids there. Hot Chelle Rae was a pleasure to have at The Voice-they definitely brightened up the day for the children staying at CHOP!

Selena Gomez Makes Second Trip to The Voice — This Time at CHOA!

One of Hollywood’s biggest stars flew to the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA) on Tuesday to give the patients at the hospital a fun surprise. Selena Gomez dropped in to The Voice media center within the hospital where she participated in an interview, took questions from the patients, and graciously posed for pictures afterward, much to the excitement of the fans who crowded the studio and the surrounding lobby.

During her interview, Selena touched on a variety  of subjects ranging from her five beloved dogs, to her new fragrance, to attending college. Although Selena’s datebook is packed for the coming year, she hopes to attend college at some point in the not too distant future. This girl is both talented and ambitious, there’s no doubt! One young patient asked Selena which song was her favorite to perform live to which she replied, “Who Says.” This inspirational tune  about embracing who you are is one of the pop star’s top songs right now and is so fitting for the patients at CHOA. Her lyrics of encouragement were well received by the patients at the hospital. When it came time to wrap up her visit, Gomez made sure to take the time to let each patient know how important they are as she signed autographs for everyone who wanted one. She even gave one of the patients a beaded bracelet straight off of her wrist. So sweet. This down to earth performer sure made an impact on the patients at CHOA and her visit to The Voice is one the patients will remember forever. Check out these photos of Selena and her fans at The Voice!

Keri Hilson Teaches Patients at CHOP How To Do The ‘Pretty Girl Rock’

Superstar Keri Hilson paid a visit to The Voice studio at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) last Friday. While at The Voice, Keri participated in an interview in which she discussed what inspires her while she’s writing songs. The Grammy nominated recording artist also talked about some of her collaborations with other big name performers like Soulja Boy, Kanye West and Chris Brown and told the kids what it’s really like to work with some of today’s hottest and most popular musicians. Hilson also gave the audience a sneak peek into what’s coming up next for the singer. We’re so excited to hear what songs she comes out with!

The highlight of Keri’s visit was definitely when she took it upon herself to teach the patients of CHOP her “Pretty Girl Rock” dance. They all moved and grooved to the catchy beat – The Voice studio was really rocking. So fun! After that, Keri took pictures and signed autographs for every child there, giving them yet another photo opportunity with a big name celebrity at The Voice! Tinie Tempah Sings Live at The Voice at CHOP!

Tinie Tempah, the artist of the hit song “Written In The Stars”, stopped by The Voice studio at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) on Monday.  Tinie shot to fame after “Written in the Stars” topped the charts and became one of summer’s top songs, so the children at CHOP were eagerly anticipating his visit. The patients who headed down to The Voice studio to see Tinie asked him some great questions regarding his music. One patient in particular wanted to learn as much as possible from the music star because she hopes to achieve his same success in singing and songwriting.  She geared her questions toward his process with creating music and how he becomes and stays inspired when penning lyrics.  Another child, who is a skilled piano player, found that talking with Tinie was enlightening and informative, and of course, super exciting! Because the children were so fascinated with his catchy beats, one girl got him to sing a verse of one of his songs live. Lucky! Tinie’s visit was very much appreciated and the children had a blast snapping photos with him before he left. Check out the photos of his visit below!

The Top 11 American Idol Contestants Stop By The Voice at CHOA

‘The Voice’ studio at the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA) was the place to be on Monday! The children at the hospital were visited by not one, but eleven special celebrity guests! The Top 11 American Idol nominees paid a visit to ‘The Voice’ to talk about their summer concert tour, perform songs for the kids, and do interviews on the closed circuit radio system within the hospital. All of the patients were so happy to see Casey Abrams, Scotty McCreery, Thia Megia, James Durbin, Jacob Lusk, Lauren Alaina, Paul McDonald, Naima Adedapo, Stefano Langone, Haley Reinhart, and Pia Toscano. Crowds formed outside of the studio hoping to get a peek at the fabulous ‘Idol’ crooners. Lauren Alaina showed her support for Idol’s past by singing along to “The Time of My Life” by David Cook and sweetly denied rumors that she and Scotty McCreery are dating. We’re still a little suspicious though!

When all of these talented musicians get together, it’s very obvious how much they care about each other. Constantly laughing, complimenting, and poking fun at each other, this group of eleven seems more like a close knit family than a group of contestants on a talent show.

The Idol’s all talked candidly about life on the road, confessing that although it’s fun, it can be exhausting. But of course, none of them would trade this experience for anything. For these musical contestants, being on tour is the ultimate reward. For Pia Toscano, especially, performing on the Idol tour is a dream come true. She and a few of the other contestants admitted that they had to try out multiple times to finally be accepted onto the show. Pia’s undying commitment to accomplishing her dream sent a message of strength and perseverance to the children at CHOA. The message from these courageous singers serves as inspiration for the patients to never give up on their dreams, a message that is invaluable for these kids.

The ‘Idols’ visit to The Voice was an exciting event for the patients at CHOA! The encouragement and positive energy imparted by the contestants was palpable during the event. As she was leaving, Lauren even gave out her phone number to one of the kids letting her know that it was okay to call anytime! How sweet!

Miranda Cosgrove, Greyson Chance Visit ‘The Voice’ at CHOP

‘The Voice’ studio at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) has been a popular place since it’s grand opening two weeks ago. On Friday, two very exciting guests paid a visit to the multi-use media center, much to the surprise and delight of the young patients at CHOP. Miranda Cosgrove, from iCarly, and YouTube sensation Greyson Chance both stopped by ‘The Voice’ to talk with the children, pose for pictures, and do an interview on the hospital’s closed circuit radio system. Of course, everyone at the hospital was ecstatic! Over one hundred people came to the studio, peering through the glass windows just to get a glimpse of the celebrities.

During her interview, Miranda reflected on her career up until now. With major roles on Drake & Josh and iCarly, Miranda has definitely made her mark on the industry. Now that iCarly is over, she told the children at CHOP that she hopes to focus more on her music, giving them details about what it’s like to travel on tour.

Greyson Chance spoke about his whirlwind of a year since being discovered on YouTube,  and how he finds the inspiration to write his own songs. He gave the kids tips on how to stay enthusiastic and motivated while pursuing music and songwriting. Greyson also revealed that he’ll be making an appearance on the Disney television show, “Raising Hope.” We know everyone at CHOP will be tuning in to watch! Cee Lo Green Stops By ‘The Voice’

The kids at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia are having quite an exciting week this week! Last Friday, Ryan Seacrest flew in to Philly to launch the brand new multimedia studio called ‘The Voice’ that he and the Ryan Seacrest Foundation constructed in the lobby of the hospital. With the studio, the children have the ability to create their own musical playlists, interview friends and celebrity guests, and produce their own radio shows all while broadcasting it throughout the hospital’s closed circuit radio system. The patients at the hospital had the opportunity to test out the new equipment when Selena Gomez dropped by the studio on it’s opening day.

While their time last Friday was definitely exciting and fulfilling, their surprises are not over yet! Yesterday, Cee Lo Green paid a visit to The Voice. The ultra popular R&B/pop artist engaged the children in a hospital wide rendition of “Forget You,” with everyone singing and clapping their hands to the tune. But the spotlight didn’t just shine on Cee Lo– some of the kids also got to display their own personal talents! One girl called in and performed a super impressive self-written rap for Cee Lo. Of course, he was delighted to hear it. Another talented girl showed Cee Lo how she could perform ‘Forget You’ completely in sign language!

Cee Lo also offered some valuable words of wisdom for the children, telling them how to find inspiration when writing their own songs. We guarantee that there will be a lot of original melodies being performed by patients at ‘The Voice’ in Philadelphia after Cee Lo’s motivating visit.

Cee Lo’s appearance was such an exciting event that crowds of children and their families spilled outside of the studio and into the atrium just to get a glimpse of the famed musician. The crowded conditions were definitely worth it- Cee Lo’s engaging performance and appreciated advice was enjoyed by everyone there. ‘The Voice’ is definitely being put to good use and we can tell that the children are thrilled to be able to use it!
