All American Rejects Fills Seacrest Studios with Laughter and Smiles

It was no little secret that the All American Rejects were visiting Seacrest Studios at Children’s National in Washington D.C! Patients, families, and staff packed the studio and were so excited to hang out with the band on-air!

During the interview, lead vocalist, Tyson Ritter, told us stories about how the band formed when they were just little kids living in a small town in Oklahoma. He said that they would all go to Nick’s House for band practice and the neighbors were always complaining about the noise! He talked about their rise to fame and how it never affected them growing up. Nick laughed and said “We didn’t have to grow up really fast. We have always been pretty immature.”

When asked who the most famous person they have met was, Tyson said “Bon Jovi was awesome to open for”. Chris laughed and said “Meeting Tom Cruise was pretty cool”.

During their time on-air, they reminisced when they wrote the song “Swing, Swing”. Tyson shared with us that he and Nick were driving to his grandparents house and they had a little porch swing out front. Tyson said one morning he went out and sat on the porch swing and was humming a melody. Nick came outside and Tyson shared the melody with him. He said that the song was written in 10 minutes.

The band was so excited to meet their fans inside the studio and sent well wishes to patients who were up in their rooms.

“Sometimes if you feel weird or displaced that the Rejects have always been there in that same feeling and that’s what got us where we are today. I think there is something to be embraced about the fact that you are unique and you are very special and that you are here for a reason. That reason will present itself even if it hasn’t yet”.

Thank you Tyson, Nick, and Chris for spreading laughter and joy to everyone at Children’s National and we hope to see you soon!

Sabrina Carpenter Performs For Patients At Seacrest Studios Atlanta

We welcomed actor, singer, and Seacrest Studios Ambassador,  Sabrina Carpenter to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta earlier this month! She performed two hit singles “Thumbs” and “Why” for the sweet patients who came down to visit her. As usual, she sounded incredible!

During the interview, Sabrina talked about the best parts of filming TV shows and movies, and how thankful she is that she also gets to record music. She can’t decide which is her favorite because she thinks both are equally fun and exciting!

When we asked her if she still hangs out with casts from previous projects, she said that she still visits with them and even has a group chat with the cast of Disney Channel’s “Adventures in Babysitting.” We told her that her co-star, Jet Jurgensmeyer, visited us just a couple of weeks before and shared that he has attended of few of her shows around the U.S. Sabrina said he’s like a little brother to her, and she loves how supportive he is! We should get Sofia Carson to visit next, and we can have an AIB reunion in Seacrest Studios!

We absolutely loved having Sabrina in the studio, and we can’t wait until she comes back to ATL again soon!

All Smiles With Jet Jurgensmeyer in Seacrest Studios Atlanta!

We were lucky enough to have Jet Jurgensmeyer (star of Disney Channel’s Adventures in Babysitting) join us in Seacrest Studios Atlanta! Having just visited the studio in Nashville, Jet was excited to meet and chat with patients in studio. He shared with us a couple of new projects he’s working on, and talked about how he splits his free time between Tennessee, California, and Michigan. He even told us how close he still is with his Adventures in Babysitting cast members, including RSF ambassador, Sabrina Carpenter!

Like his good friend Sabrina, Jet is a singer, too. He just really started playing guitar a few years ago, but he blew us all away by singing us a cover of his favorite Twenty-One Pilots song. Maybe one day soon, Jet will come back to visit us as a pop star, instead! After leaving the studio, he told us he would be attending a Braves game, so obviously we gave him a tomahawk to help cheer on ATL! We were so excited to have him stop by, and we’re counting the days until he comes back to see us.

Madison Beer Spends The Day At Seacrest Studios!

Written by Studios Intern Amanda Mitchell

Madison Beer, the 18 year old pop singer, drew quite the crowd on Monday, August 2nd in Seacrest Studios at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia! Patients found out about Madison’s inspiring start. She explained that she was discovered by Justin Bieber when she was 13. Her phone rang as she explored a local candy shop, it was one of her friends exclaiming “JUSTIN BIEBER RETWEETED YOUR YOUTUBE VIDEO.” Since that call, Madison’s life has been filled with multiple albums, tours, modeling and her visit to CHOP!

Madison explained that she is in a place where her vision is clear. She knows what she wants and she is determined to achieve it. At a young age, Madison has been intrigued with music, a passion that she sticks with today. Madison’s main message to the children and families at CHOP was, to do what you love.

Madison is an advocate for the things that she is truly passionate about. As a preteen she experienced bullying and wants others to know that she made it though, so you can too. She explained that it is better to talk about what you are experiencing.

There is lots to come for Madison, she has recently become very interested in writing, although not just music! Madison would love to write a book or a television show. She also hopes to start her own clothing line in the coming future. She has discovered that she dresses like many of her fans and would love to bring them her designs.

Madison was asked a few questions by patients and their families that came down to meet her at CHOP. The final question of the afternoon being “What was it like the first time you met Justin Bieber.” Her face lit up when she shared that he was coming backstage, walked by her and winked. She says she nearly passed out! Thank you Madison Beer!

R5 Gives Patients Advice About Following Their Dreams!

Written by Seacrest Studios Intern: Brittany Wade

Patients and families welcomed R5 to our Seacrest Studios at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta! During their interview, they talked about how the fans love their new, self-produced album, and they said the best part about being in a band with your siblings is being with each other all the time. Ross talked about how much fun he had on the set of “Austin and Ally” while also making music with the band.

R5 performed their hits “If” and “Smile.” The band even invited a patient to sing a song from “Austin and Ally” with them! When asked for any advice they would give to our little stars in the hospital, they replied, “Practice hard and play because you love it.” Patients loved getting to meet and take pictures with the band. We loved having R5 in the studio and we look forward to their next visit!
