Kelly Clarkson and Maroon 5 Sing Happy Birthday at Seacrest Studios!

Kelly Clarkson and Maroon 5 band members, Adam Levine and James Valentine, had the crowd smiling when they visited Seacrest Studios at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) on Wednesday August 7th.

The musicians answered questions from the crowd, sang happy birthday to a lucky audience member and took photos with excited patients.

We learned a lot of interesting things about the artists during their visit:

Kelly Clarkson, a talented singer and songwriter, loves yoga, almond milk and making up lyrics that rhyme. The down to earth Texas native says her favorite thing about being famous is being able to get a reservation at a restaurant.

Patients were eager to know more about Kelly’s music and inquired about her favorite song.  Without hesitation, Kelly said she was most proud of her ballad “Because of You” which she fought to get on to her second album Breakaway.

Kelly and Maroon 5’s Adam Levine met over a decade ago and are currently on tour together.

So, what career would Adam choose if he weren’t the singer of Maroon 5?

Basketball player. Which comes as no surprise since the artist sported a sports cap for his visit and came out in support of Los Angeles teams.

When asked how Adam got started on vocals the response was unexpected. Adam admitted that the only reason he was the band’s singer was because he had the best voice of all the band members. When he was questioned about the perks of being famous he explained it is just an extra bonus when you are doing something you love, “we just wanted to be recognized for what we do; for our pursuit to sing and perform”.

Band members Adam and James showed the crowd the ‘Hoorah’ chant they do before starting each and every performance and told stories from their ongoing tour.

James kept the audience entertained with a story about how he recently fell off the stage during a concert and landed on his feet and reminded the audience to “never stop playing!”

So, what would be the perfect day for these artists?  “Smiling as much as possible” Adam and Kelly agreed saying “laughing so hard you get a work out”.

Thank you to Kelly, Adam, and James for making it a perfect day for so many patients at CHOP.  Best of luck to Kelly and Maroon 5 on their tour together!

Patients At Seacrest Studios Clown Around With The Ringling Bros.

With the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus in town, patients at Children’s Hospital of Orange County were caught clowning around in Seacrest Studios with three clowns performing in Ringling’s Built to Amaze show.

Taylor, Genevieve (“G”) and Julio helped bring smiles to the patient’s faces by performing magic tricks, juggling acts and skit comedy.

Taylor, the Boss Clown, took time to explain to everyone the history of clowns, and we learned there are many different types of clowns!  Taylor is an expert at the tight rope, learning the skill in only three days.  “G” told us that the tigers she trains never get out of line but that we should watch out for the poodles.  Julio, who is from Brazil, gave an amazing magic show to the patients making a cell phone disappear into thin air!

Ringling Bros. has clowns and performers from 17 different countries performing in four different shows, which travel throughout the world.  Built to Amaze, the show in which these three clowns perform, is full of magnificent elephants, ferocious tigers, astonishing acrobats and awe-inspiring aerialists all wrapped into one performance.

Thank you to Ringling Bros., Taylor, Julio and “G” for making their visit over the top!

Taylor Lautner Visits Seacrest Studios at CHOC and Talks About His Upcoming Movie!

Taylor Lautner stopped by the launch of Ryan Seacrest Foundation‘s Seacrest Studios at Children’s Hospital of Orange County Friday and talked about everything from his past birthday celebration to his upcoming movie!

Taylor, who recently turned 21-years-old, shared he didn’t go crazy over the milestone of a birthday, sharing: “It was I guess considered quiet for a 21-year-old birthday party, I spent time with the family and friends. It was more low key. I didn’t do any crazy bash. I’m not a big partier so there wasn’t any nutso party, but I enjoyed it.”

So now that Twilight has wrapped, what’s Taylor working on now?

Aside from starring in Grown Ups 2, alongside Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg and fellow funnymen of Hollywood, Taylor revealed he’s getting ready to shoot a new movie.

Sharing, “it’s a little too early to talk about.” But still revealing, “it’s got a little bit of everything. There’s a great love story. There is action in it as well, and it would be something different for me which I’m very excited about. It’s darker and much grittier than anything I’ve done before.”

And more importantly, after seeing those Ashley Benson dinner photos, we had to wonder, does our favorite Twilight hunk have a girlfriend?!

When asked by a fan at the hospital, Taylor responded: “The answer is actually no. No, I’m actually single!”
