American Idol Alum, Wé Ani, Meets Patients In New York!
Queens, NY – This summer, Seacrest Studios New York was lucky enough to have American Idol Season 21 (and The Voice Season 11) alum, Wé Ani, drop by the studio to answer patient questions, perform some of her music, and play a silly game.
Wé shared that even though her parents thought she might grow up to be a doctor, she always knew writing and performing music was her purpose. She said that singing makes her feel like she’s flying, and she couldn’t imagine doing anything else. Fortunately, her family, particularly her dad (who joined her for the visit), is a huge inspiration and support system. Her dad is the one who encouraged her to try out for The Voice when she was 17!
When asked about her time on the singing competition shows, Wé disclosed it was a lot to juggle—especially at a young age! Despite having gained confidence over the years, she told patients that she still gets nervous to perform. But, according to her, it’s nothing that a little pre-stage prayer and hype music can’t solve!
Patients in-studio and watching virtually from their rooms were treated to a cover of Beyonce’s “Halo” and Wé’s own song “Good For?” which she performed acoustically. She then challenged our patient DJs to a Disney-themed game of the “Whisper Challenge,” where she had to guess what the other person was saying while listening to music very loudly!
It was a joy to have Wé Ani visit Seacrest Studios at Cohen’s, and we hope to see her again soon.
