Hoodie Allen Performs At Seacrest Studios in Charlotte
Hoodie Allen, came by Seacrest Studios at Levine Children’s Hospital during a stop on his People Keep Talking World Tour. To make sure this native New York rap artist could handle some competition, we put his WRAPPING skills to the test! Pitted against a patient from Levine Children’s Hospital, Hoodie had to wrap a present as quickly, and skillfully, as possible in 2 minutes! To our surprise, he told us he had never wrapped a present before! The challenge was on! You can see who won in our video recap above.
During his visit, Hoodie Allen gave great advice to patients confined to their rooms about getting started in music, and what computer programs they could use to make a good recording. We asked Hoodie about his crowd-surfing - he does it at his shows! “I use a raft and I literally raft on the crowd and sometimes they don’t keep me up and I fall into the crowd.” We asked if he ever gets nervous right before he jumps off the stage. He said, “I was nervous last night about that, and I think your attitude determines what happens because I fell last night. It was fun though. It was all good though - no one got hurt – I didn’t get hurt. The audience knows it's coming – I bring out the raft and it’s like Simba in the Lion King – ahhh – raft time! Sometimes, they are on their phones filming it, and I know it is not going to end well if they are filming it.” “All About It” is the hit song Hoodie Allen and singer, Ed Sheeran, recorded together. It is playing on the radio right now. Hoodie told us that he met Ed a few years ago backstage at a concert in New York and that Ed “is a really cool guy.” We agree! After a performance of his song, “No Interruption,” Hoodie signed autographs and took pictures with patients. There are new Hoodie Mob members in Charlotte now as a result of Hoodie’s visit. We hope that he will come back again soon. Until then, we are sure that everyone will be pleased with Hoodie’s new “wrapping” skills!
