Ingrid Michaelson Performs Special Concert For Patients At Seacrest Studios
Patients at Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte were treated to a special concert by singer/songwriter, Ingrid Michaelson, during a tour stop in North Carolina. Michaelson, a Seacrest Studios favorite, performed two of her hit songs, “Girls Chase Boys,” and “Be OK,” both of which are routinely requested at LCH!
The crowd that gathered in the studio was thrilled to meet Ingrid and hear her talk about life on the road, and life on the tour bus! Ingrid told patients that she likes to be in the middle bunk of the sleeping compartment on the bus because, if she is too high up, she is afraid she will fall out! She also shared a funny story about getting hit with a Chick-fil-a sandwich thrown by a well-meaning fan during a concert. This amazing talent had a special moment with one patient when the patient asked if she could sing part of a song for Ingrid. It was a sweet part of Ingrid’s visit and everyone in the studio was touched by Michaelson’s kind response. When asked what advice she would give young musicians and singers, Ingrid told Seacrest Studios’ listeners, “I always say you have to do it because you love it, not because you want to be famous. There is something lately that’s happening with pop culture where celebrities want to be famous just to be famous. For me, with music and singing, I do it because I love it because I can’t not do it! I always say to myself, even if I had not become successful, I’d always be doing it – I’d always be singing. If you have that in your heart, and you love what you do, and you believe in yourself, you’re always going to be successful because you’ll always be doing something you love. Do it because you love it! Work hard, believe in yourself, surround yourself with good people, and I think the stars will align.” The stars definitely aligned for patients in Charlotte – it was our good fortune to have someone with a beautiful heart, and voice, like Ingrid Michaelson, spend some time with us in Seacrest Studios! Ingrid left us with the wonderful thought that everything would - “Be OK.”
