Joe Gatto Brings Laughter & Impersonations to Seacrest Studios, NY!
Written by Seacrest Studios Manager, Gabbi Markle
Queens, NY – In February, Seacrest Studios New York welcomed comedian Joe Gatto to Cohen Children’s Medical Center. Formerly of the hit TV show Impractical Jokers, Gatto has been busy doing stand-up comedy shows across the country—and even abroad in Australia! We’re so glad he made the time to visit and bring laughter to patients and families.
Upon Gatto’s arrival, patient DJs immediately shared their favorite “Dad jokes” with him and told them how much they loved his pranks and jokes on TV.
Another patient DJ, tuning in from their hospital room, asked how he got started with Impractical Jokers. Gatto replied that he’s always loved making people laugh and was looking for a way to do that with his close friends—the rest, as they say... is history!
After sharing his favorite pranks and jokes from the past, Gatto helped the audience settle an age-old debate in honor of Valentine’s Day: Is chocolate considered candy? His answer was yes! He also shared that his favorite candy bar of all time is a Whatchamacallit, while patients shared that Snickers, Milky Ways, and Skittles are some of their most sought-after sweets.
Because Joe Gatto’s physical comedy is the stuff of legend, patient DJs challenged him to a game called “First Impressions: Animal Edition.” Gatto and patients did their best impressions of dolphins, giraffes and more, causing the whole room to erupt in laughter.
Before taking time to sign autographs and snap photos with patients and families, Joe promised to return to Seacrest Studios soon. When he releases his brand-new children’s book, Where’s Bearry?, he plans to return and perform a special reading!
Patients and families, both in-studio and in their rooms, loved having Joe Gatto at Cohen Children’s Medical Center and can’t wait to see him again!
