Jon Neill Unleashes His Pumpkin-Carving Genius inside Seacrest Studios

Professional pumpkin carver Jon Neill recently brought Halloween magic to Seacrest Studios at Children’s Hospital of Orange County with a live pumpkin-carving demonstration! Known for his appearances on the Food Network’s Halloween Wars, Jon wowed patients, families, and staff with his expert skills and creative techniques, showing us just what it takes to make the ultimate Halloween masterpiece.

Jon’s session was filled with excitement, laughter, and surprises. While showcasing his pumpkin-carving process, Jon shared insights on using everyday tools like potato peelers and kitchen knives to bring designs to life. At one point, he even transformed a russet potato into an eye and used it, along with a few potato “teeth,” to create a spooky face in his pumpkin!

Throughout his demo, Jon gave patients plenty of helpful tips to extend the life of their pumpkins. His pro tip? Treat pumpkins like vampires—they last longer if they’re kept cool and out of sunlight! He also advised looking for pumpkins with long green stems, as they help provide the nutrients needed to stay strong.

Jon’s visit brought so much joy and creativity to Seacrest Studios, making it an unforgettable Halloween celebration. Thank you, Jon, for giving us a festive, behind-the-scenes “scoop” on pumpkin-carving magic!
