Patients at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Welcome Luke Combs!
By: Raven Fulton, Studio Intern
Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center patients, families, and staff welcomed Luke Combs to Seacrest Studios with waves of laughter and cheer.
The “Hurricane” singer was very laid back and comfortable on the mic answering many patient questions. One of those questions being, “If you could trade places with anyone for a day, who would it be?” His answer, “John Cena, I would like to be a strong muscle-ly guy for a day”. The country singer went back and forth trying to decide between John Cena and The Rock before asking the audience who they thought was cooler. With a unanimous vote, the studio audience chose The Rock. After this decision, he realized that he left John Cena in the dust. He asked the audience if now had "beef" with John Cena. He just wants to remind everyone he did start off wanting to be John Cena in the beginning.
During his interview, Luke talked about how he got started in his music career. Luke Combs is a self-taught musician. He explained how he set small goals for himself instead of one big goal. Starting with learning to play one cord on the guitar. Everyone can take something away from Luke setting small goals. If you set small goals it doesn’t mean, you’ll never get to the big goal.
One of our studio regulars, Keegan, asked Luke, "What were some of his favorite songs to perform live?" He responded with his song “Honky Tonk Highway” is always a fun time and “Tennessee Whiskey” by Chris Stapleton, cover of “Brand New Man” by Brooks and Dunn and anything Eric Church – of course. An audience member asked who his biggest inspirations were. The CMA nominee replied with, “Eric Church always.” Just Kidding! His parents. They always have been his biggest support system even when he dropped out of college, which he doesn’t encourage anyone to do. Before Luke left, a patient told him she was planning on attending his concert but, unfortunately, was not able to make it. He made sure to grab not only her name, but brothers name as well, who was still attending the concert, to give him a shout out from his sister at the concert! Thank you to Luke Combs for coming by Cincinnati Children’s Hospital - Seacrest Studio!
