Randy Travis Spreads February Love in Seacrest Studios
Written by Seacrest Studios Program Manager, Mamie Shepherd
February has been all about love for Seacrest Studios in Nashville and there was no better way to celebrate matters of the heart than with someone near and dear to ours!
Country music star, Randy Travis, visited patients at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt and everyone is still talking about it! Accompanied by his lovely wife, Mary, Randy met with patients, talked about his legendary career, gave out t-shirts, and even brought some incredible talent with him to sing his award-winning songs.
Brent Loper and Ben Fuller talked about Randy's influence on their own careers and led the crowd in a group sing-along of two of Randy's biggest hits - Three Wooden Crosses and Forever and Ever, Amen. Nostalgia had its moment that day in a sweet and inspiring way that we will not soon forget when Randy sang the final word...Amen!
Many biographies note Randy Travis as "a pivotal figure in the history of country music." One cannot argue with his award roster - seven Grammy Awards, six CMA Awards, ten AMA Awards, eight Dove Awards, and eleven ACM Awards. After selling over 25 million records, Travis was deservedly inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame and will be forever immortalized with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!
All those accolades don't even come close to reflecting the triumphs and tragedies Randy has weathered, but it does give him an incredible platform to inspire sick and injured children and people from all walks of life who are facing their own struggles. Travis does this in a most poignant way through his latest venture, a book about his life and career titled Forever and Ever, Amen: A Memoir of Music, Faith and Braving the Storms of Life that is out now.
Dignified, humble, and incredibly kind-hearted, this living legend inspired every person who saw him in Seacrest Studios, and those watching from their hospital rooms during his visit.
Randy, we will love you forever and ever!
