The Revivalists Visit Cincinnati Children's Hospital
Studio Staff, Whitney Osborne
New Orleans band, The Revivalists, started off their visit to Seacrest Studios at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center with a performance of their hit song, “Wish I Knew You.” Lead singer David talked about being home here in Cincinnati, and receiving the key to his hometown, Hamilton, Ohio. For a day they renamed the city to “Jamilton” in honor of David and the concert The Revivalists put on every year.
When it came time to for their interview patient Mary Kate wanted to know how long they have been a band – which has been for 10 years! Jerra asked her infamous “How would you rearrange the food pyramid?” question. David would choose to eat as many fruits and veggies as possible. Zack seconded that motion and said to add nuts in there too. From this question we learned they also love to enjoy Sour Patch Kids every once in awhile.
Emmalynn joined in to sing some “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” with David and Zack! Zack had lots of fun facts to share with us including that our “ABC’s” and “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” have the same melody! Our patient entertainer, Emmalynn, went back and forth with Zack on who could tell the best joke; Zack’s pick was “Why did Adele cross the road? To say ‘Hello’ from the other side!” When playing “Heads Up!” it was a team effort from Emmalynn, Mary Kate, and Zack to help David guess Princess Jasmine – the clue of an herb that smells good closed the deal!
It was a great morning in the studio filled with laughter and smiles. Thank you to David and Zack of The Revivalists for taking the time to lift the spirits of patients and families of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center!
