Ryan Seacrest Returns to Seacrest Studios, Nashville
Written by Seacrest Studios Senior Program Manager, Mamie Shepherd
After three years of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ryan Seacrest, the man behind the mic and our American Idol, made his triumphant return to Seacrest Studios at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville, TN.
Patients were delighted to see that it was not the cardboard cutout of the Radio Hall of Famer that stands guard in the studio, but the man himself! In town to film American Idol, Ryan was able to make a stop by the Music City studio to host a radio show, film a few TikTok videos with patients, and do a meet-and-greet with families in the hospital.
Ryan fielded patient questions ranging from, “What’s your zodiac sign?” to “Who is your favorite American Idol winner?”
When asked what inspired him to go into broadcasting, Seacrest told the audience in the studio, “The truth is, I really loved listening to music on the radio when I was a kid growing up, and I really loved the people who told me about the music on the radio. I loved the music and wanted to be around it, and that’s why I fell in love with being around radio stations, because you could be a part of the music and tell people about new music and introduce them to new artists.”
Through a fun round of “What Would Ryan Do?!” that included patients, families, and Ryan, we learned that Ryan would babysit and that he does sing in the shower!
Thank you for the giggles, smiles, fun, and encouragement you brought to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, Ryan!
