The Ryan Seacrest Foundation (RSF) opened a new, state-of-the-art studio today at Cohen Children’s Medical Center (CCMC), part of Northwell Health, to provide pediatric patients an opportunity to learn first-hand about the creative realms of radio, television and new media. The broadcast media center, named Seacrest Studios, is the foundation’s 13^th studio of its kind to open nationwide and the only one in New York.

Seacrest Studios are the charitable endeavors of RSF, which was founded by radio personality and television host and producer Ryan Seacrest – who attended the opening with a star-studded cast that included singer-songwriter Stephen Sanchez, actress Madelyn Cline, WWE Superstar Charlotte Flair and the lovable Paw Patrol characters Chase, Skye, Rubble and Marshall.

“As the largest provider of pediatric services in New York State, we are thrilled to welcome Cohen Children’s Medical Center into the Seacrest Studios family,” said Ryan Seacrest, Chairman and Founder, Ryan Seacrest Foundation. “I had the pleasure of calling New York home for many years, so to know that so many children and families will now have access to our programming is incredibly rewarding.”

The 1,500-square-foot studio is located in CCMC’s atrium and all programming will be broadcasted to patient rooms, so that all pediatric patients get the opportunity to participate and/or tune in. The programing will include visits from celebrities and special guests, along with educational content, live music, patient-created shows, music therapy and more.

“We are very grateful to the Ryan Seacrest Foundation for giving us another opportunity to provide the best experience possible for our patients,” said Michael Dowling, president and CEO of Northwell. “This is an exciting opportunity for all of us to help some of our youngest patients learn and explore the art of broadcast media while receiving treatment for an injury or illness and, more importantly, maybe take the experience home with them after they recover to do even bigger things.”

“Thanks to the Ryan Seacrest Foundation, this studio serves as another example of our extraordinary commitment to the health and wellbeing of our patients and their families,” said Charles Schleien, MD, SVP, and chief of pediatric services at CCMC. “This exciting new creative outlet not only improves the in-hospital experience for them, but it is also a great addition to our Child Life programs, which are designed to give our young patients the opportunity to play and to relieve the stress of being in a hospital setting.”

RSF has opened 12 other Seacrest Studios across the country, with locations in Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Dallas, Denver, Memphis, Nashville, Orange County, Orlando, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.

As part of the studio opening, pediatric patients at CCMC will be invited to a special screening of “Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie,” which opens later this month.
