The Vamps shared encouraging words with patients in Seacrest Studios.
The Vamps made a stop on their summer show tour to visit patients at the Seacrest Studios at Levine Children's Hospital (LCH.) Brad Simpson, James McVey, Connor Ball, and Tristan Evans formed their group with a little help from the internet arms of YouTube and Facebook. They like to say that THEY themselves put their band together. Each band member plays an instrument and sings. Brad Simpson is lead vocals and guitar, James McVey is lead guitar and vocals, Connor Ball plays bass guitar and sings, and Tristan Evans rounds out the group on drums and vocals.
Having burst onto the music scene in 2012, The Vamps have already been nominated for awards by Radio Disney and Teen Choice Awards, and they have won a BBC Radio 1 Teen Award and a Hot Hits Award. There seems to be no slowing this group down! For such a relatively young band, The Vamps have already had the privilege of performing with Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, and The Wanted, and just the day before visiting Seacrest Studios in Charlotte, the group announced a deal with Walmart to perform a free concert! When asked about their enthusiastic fans, the group said girls will follow them from place to place when they are out in public. They also said coming to perform in America was a huge honor. The patients at LCH loved hearing about the video The Vamps made for the movie, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day! Since it is a favorite book read at Seacrest Studios, there was particular interest in hearing about the group's involvement with the video for the movie. “We were on tour at the time and luckily we had some recording stuff with us. That was really fun.” Offering encouragement and support really made the day of patients, and their families, at LCH. We can't wait for their return to the Queen City!
